This Privacy Policy explains how Sally Jo LLC ("Sally Jo," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with SJ Monitor (the "Service") at sjmonitor.com.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you enable it, two-factor authentication data.
- Team and configuration data: team names and members, and the monitors you configure — including the URLs, hostnames, ports, and any keywords or authentication headers you ask us to use when checking your targets.
- Monitoring data: the results of checks we run for you (status, response time, status codes, and bounded error details).
- Billing information: for paid plans, billing is processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
- Usage and technical data: log data, IP addresses, browser/user-agent, and cookies needed to operate the Service.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Service and to run the checks you configure.
- To send you alerts and notifications (email and SMS) and service or account messages.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To prevent abuse, enforce our Terms, and comply with the law.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only — for sign-in, session security, and CSRF protection. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Sensitive monitor configuration
Authentication tokens or headers you attach to a monitor are encrypted at rest and are never shown in logs or to other customers. The targets you monitor are your responsibility — only monitor systems you are authorized to monitor.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Service — for example our hosting/infrastructure provider, Stripe (payments), Amazon SES (email), and Twilio (SMS) — and who are bound to protect it.
- Legal and safety recipients when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.
Data retention
We retain account data while your account is active. Monitoring results are retained according to your plan's data-retention limit. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encrypt sensitive configuration at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your rights
You can access and update your account information, and delete your account, from within the Service. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, deletion, or portability); contact us to exercise them.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
International users
We operate the Service from the United States; by using it, you consent to processing there.
Changes
We may update this Policy; material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
